Restaurants in the area
Our cottage is in the village of Bourras which has two very decent restaurants just a few minutes walk away! There is the L'Abri des Pins which is a small family run restaurant serving typically French food and Le Relais des Vignes which is a truckers restaurant but serves a great buffet!.
A short drive away is the riverside village of Bassac which has two top-quality restaurants, the Auberge de Conde and the hotel/restaurant L"Essille which both serve superb French food and wine, they are not cheap though but lunch is cheaper than dinner.
About 5 minutes drive away is Jarnac which has a number of restaurants serving a variety of types of food. There is the Restaurant du Chateau which serves high-quality French food on the main square but there are also numerous others serving pizzas and salads etc, like the Coin Charentaise right on the river.
Further away (15 minutes) is Cognac with more lovely restaurants on the river and Angouleme with lots of lovely places to eat in its old town on the hill. Bon appetit!
